Cherry Crush

Author: Cathy Cassidy
Narrated by: Cherry Costello
Blurb: Cherry Costello's life is about to change forever.
She and Dad are moving to Somerset where a new mum and a bunch of brand-new sisters await.
And on Cherry's first day she meets gorgeous Shay Fletcher; the kind of boy who should carry a government health warning.
But Shay already has a boyfriend, Cherry's new stepsister Honey. Cherry knows her friendship with Shay is dangerous, but that doesn't mean she's going to stay away from him...
I think Cherry Crush is a brilliant book. Cherry's life before Tanglewood is described in an interesting way as Cathy Cassidy knows how to hop back and forth between the past and present with ease in a way that keeps the story fresh and fun to read. It feels like a part of the main story even when going back to her childhood. Though I haven't experienced it, Cherry's situation is probably similar to other people's even if it is under slightly different circumstances. Forbidden love and the idea of a fresh start that isn't working probably seems like a familiar situation to a lot of people Cherry's age. The story is gripping and imaginative, and like all of Cathy's books that I have read it is a very true to life situation. I would definitely recommend this to a friend (if any of mine liked reading DX ) and to any one who is already a fan of Jacqueline Wilson.

I would give Cherry Crush a 4 star rating
